About the Presenter

Mitch Gillespie

is an experienced and driven product leader motivated by smart people, with innovative ideas, looking to achieve extraordinary outcomes. He has joined Thin Air Labs as Chief Growth Officer after ten years of start-up product management experience, working in FinTech for both B2C & B2B companies sizing from 20 - 300 employees. Aside from PM work, Mitch has taught for Brainstation, Product Faculty, and Mind the Product. He’s excited to expand the breadth of his impact by teaching in the field with the Thin Air portfolio & partners. For Mitch, a career highlight was leading iterative market validation of Wave’s invoicing and credit card payments solution; now, the majority of Wave’s revenue, processing millions of dollars daily. He & his cross-functional peers iteratively grew pre-revenue engagement, followed by increased conversion of paid customers, followed by significant expansion of profit through deep integration into payment service providers. In July 2019, Wave HQ was acquired by HR Block for $537 million CAD.
